Executive Summary Cairns Dive Centre (CDC) is one of the largest diver certification agencies in the world. CDC has been operating in Cairns under the same ownership for over 30 years; maintaining outstanding customer service and certifying divers from all around the world. CDC offers 2 snorkel / dive day trip options, 1 live-aboard ( on the Great Barrier Reef with snorkelling and diving ) plus an option to transfer to Fitzroy Island which CDC has the exclusive dive shop with retail and Dive school / Pool. In addition to day and over night trips CDC offer daily learn-to-dive courses through all levels, from Bubble Maker ( 10 years of age ), Scuba Diver, Open Water, Adventure, Advanced, Rescue, Dive Master and Dive Instructor. CDC is a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) 5 star accredited with the highest PADI Discover Scuba Dive numbers in Cairns and Queensland for 2016. Courses vary from 1 day referrals to 2 week Dive Instructor IDC courses. CDC holds two unique Marine Permits issued by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. These include permit G15/34162.1 (a 15 year permit due for renewal in September 2022, subject to CDC remaining Eco Accredited). The permit allows CDC to conduct tourism operations across 19 moorings, including exclusive rights over Elford Reef (1), Channel Reef (2) and Briggs Reef (4); as well as permission by the Authority for two vessels to conduct a tourism program across this scope. The Business operations are continuous with tourism numbers fluctuating throughout the year, CDC engages casual and sub contract employees to manoeuvre through business peaks and troughs.
